Several times whilst walking my dog Jessie I had noticed this object and felt it had the potential to make a good subject for one of my photographs. I really liked the tin hat with its embossed patterns and dented lid, and felt this was complemented by the other textures in the scene – the wooden fence; the ground, grass, and leaves; and the tin hat’s concrete base. I found this scene, although deceptively simple, really captivating.
