I find New Zealand wooden weatherboard houses fascinating, having come from England where brick is the usual construction material for houses.  There are beautiful, pristine examples, such as this one in Devonport, and equally fascinating (to me) are ageing, run down weatherboard houses which themselves possess a particular beauty. I wanted a rather romantic rendition of this building, with subtle tones revealing gentle textures.
